Earlier this week, on Jimmy Fallon (where all the cool things seem to happen lately), Justin Timberlake (and just when did he get cool anyway?--I don't know, but he most definitely did!) and Jimmy got together to perform this kick butt history of rap:

E3H: BUY "Asher Lev" today; read through the first two chapters for Tuesday. Writing Workshop is Monday, and that means you should prepare a conference draft: print out two copies in color and include at the top a few sentences explaining what you are trying to accomplish in this draft and what you want the focus of the conference to be.
E2CP: BUY "Our Town" today. Over the weekend: write an essay of approximately two pages using TNTSIJ, the Thoreau/Emerson quotes, or both (as well as the Transcendentalist principles as outlined in the blog here) as supports that answers the following question: Is Transcendentalism alive in Lake Forest, Illinois in 2010? (See HW calendar for outline and samples.)
CW: Continue revising various pieces and continue working on Journal Challenge #1!
